Helen and Anne Schellhardt
This Friday’s featured photo is my second favorite family photograph that doesn’t include my mom and I’m so excited to share it with you!

Isn’t it fun wondering what adults looked like when they were little?  Growing up, we always had a picture of my mom as a toddler displayed in our house so I had an idea of what she looked like.  Lots of cuteness.  We also had the famous “Boys in Lifering” picture of Uncles Charles, Bill, and Bob as little boys aboard the Bremen.  Again, lots of cuteness.

But I never saw a picture of Aunt Helen or Aunt Anne as little girls.  It was like they popped into the world as fully formed aunts.  I couldn’t even imagine them as little darling dears!

A few years ago, however, when I was visiting Aunt Helen and Uncle Bill out in California, I came across this photograph hanging up on the wall.  I loved it so much that I asked Aunt Helen for a copy. The proof’s in the pudding folks – they were once cute kids too!

Lots of exciting stuff is happening this weekend!  As long as my cat doesn’t lick all the photos, we’ve got some cool additions coming!  Christopher Peter loaned us his album of family photos to scan – and let me just tell you, nothing beats a Peter better than a Peter in plaid pants!  Also, we’ve got some photos from wild Wildwood days coming as well!  Not to mention, some cool family tree stuff from Stephen Knuttel.  Finally, my big surprise – something that you never knew you wanted or needed until now.

By the way – don’t think our photos are restricted to the 50s and 60s and black and white shots!  If you have color photos from the 70s through the present – we’ll take those too!  I can’t wait to see what your favorite pictures are!
